Nerve Conduction Study
It is done by giving a mild electrical stimulation to the relevant nerve with electrodes placed on the skin and muscles in certain areas. The electrical stimulation given is of no harm to the patient, but the patient may feel temporary pain as the intensity of the stimulation is increased during the stimulation of the nerves in the deep parts of the body. With this method, it can be easily understood whether there is a problem that will disrupt the anatomical integrity and functions of the nerves responsible for strength and sensations. In patients with a pacemaker, this test is not performed because it may cause arrhythmia in the heart.
